Enmeshed

Emmanuel approached the studio with a clear objective: to transform his apartment into a space that tangibly reflected his identity. He wanted every element, every corner, to speak of him.

In the first visit, we identified two priority aspects to resolve: the absence of storage spaces and the scarce entry of natural light. With this in mind, we analyzed the current configuration.

The apartment has two levels. The integrated living-dining room and kitchen are located on the ground floor. On the upper level, a mezzanine balconies over the floor below, which is where the bedroom is situated. From there, an iron platform, originally conceived as a desk, projects into the void. On its sides, there were no structures, only empty space, which we interpreted as an opportunity to expand and optimize the area.

On the right side, the extension of the platform gave rise to a new module that integrates a closet and a reading nook. On the left side, and keeping part of the void to maintain visual spaciousness, we designed a walkway that connects to a double-height shelving unit. This piece, constructed from iron and sheet metal, runs through the apartment like a guiding thread, creating storage capacity and serving as a support for objects that convey the client's essence.

In the bedroom, we incorporated a new closet next to the bed, accompanied by a bench and coat racks. The headboard was resolved with a black slotted panel that integrates with the back of the closet, creating visual unity. The composition is completed with black slotted wood, gray micro-cement, and a large-diameter circular mirror, which adds spaciousness and character to the space.

The intervention transformed an apartment with light and storage limitations into a functional space with character, where every element responds to a specific need and, at the same time, reflects its owner's identity. The result is a coherent, versatile home full of details that tell a personal story.
